About our Forest Schools First Aid course
Our awarding body ITC First Aid has a well established and long running relationship with the Key Forest School National Training Organisation. Together they have helped design this unique first aid training package. Many organisations deliver first aid courses that meet some of the needs of Forest School practitioners; however this is the only awarding organisation approved by HSE, Ofqual, and the SQA, that has developed a tailored training course supported by the main Forest School Training Organisation in England.
This Course is only run as a Group Booking due to the complexity of organising it. If you are looking for an individual place, let us know and we can put you on our Waiting list for spaces on a Private course where the Client will allow spare spaces to be sold to individuals.
For a small extra charge per person this course can also cover the content needed for the 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate allowing students to gain this Ofsted / EYFS compliant qualification as well. This needs to be arranged at time of Booking.
Our Instructors come from a range of professional and voluntary backgrounds such as:
We aim to match instructors to your specific training requirements. They are aware of the specific needs of various outdoor environments, fully understanding the problems and judgements that have to be made when dealing with incidents in stressful, dangerous and remote situations.
Our training is very practical and hands on. We do not rely upon the usual ‘death by PowerPoint’, instead we use progressive incident scenario based training methods. Our courses teach techniques proven to work in real life incidents and not just in a classroom. Our training builds confidence and develops first aid skills into complete incident management.
All candidates must attend the full course to pass. Each candidate is continually assessed throughout and must demonstrate competence in all the assessed skills.
Our awarding body for the Forest Schools First Aid qualifications is ITC First Aid who are authorised and regulated by Ofqual and the SQA. The Qualification title is: Forest School First Aid.
