Bespoke First Aid Training Course
duration as required

We can design and deliver bespoke first aid training courses for any purpose and to suit any requirement. This option is useful for clubs, or schools for special educational needs to big industries with very specific risk assessment requirements. We can design and deliver a course based on your needs and your candidates.

Sometimes an off-the-shelf course is not the best solution. For instance:-

  • You need a First Aid at Work qualification but also need training for looking after secondary school age children (e.g. Activity Centre)
  • You only need a one-day course but also need some information on soft tissue injuries (e.g. Dance teacher)
  • You have a recognised need for specific skills such as Anaphylaxis treatment or extremes of temperature but don’t need the full 3-day First Aid at Work

In these cases a Bespoke course is the answer. We can tailor a course to your needs. Whilst we will always cover the essentials, the remaining time can be used to your advantage. A good starting point is our 3 hour Basic Life Support course which can then be extended to fit your requirements.

Typical additional topics can be Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Heart Conditions and so on.

You have two choices of Certificate depending upon the level of assessment that you need.

Certificate of Attendance valid for 1 year.

This is used when you have a mixed ability group and just want an awareness of skills with no obligation to participate. For example a Church Group that want some information but due to the age bracket would find it difficult to kneel down or lie down. Another reason might be a group larger than 12 where there is not the opportunity to assess everyone to competency standard. More topics can be covered with an Attendance Certificate compared to a Competence Certificate. Although the skills will last, the Certificate will only be valid for 1 year.

Certificate of Competence valid for 3 years

This is used where you require a competency certificate – e.g.a Sports Club – that is valid for 3 years. Class sizes are limited to 12 per trainer and each individual will be assessed on each skill. They need to be assessed and pass each skills to be certified as ‘competent’.

Instructors

Our Instructors come from a range of professional and voluntary backgrounds such as:

  • emergency services (ambulance, police and fire service)
  • military (medics)
  • outdoor professionals (Mountain leaders)
  • Community Responders
  • Experienced First Aiders

We aim to match instructors to your specific training requirements. They are aware of the specific needs of various outdoor environments, fully understanding the problems and judgements that have to be made when dealing with incidents in stressful, dangerous and remote situations.

Training

Our training is very practical and hands on. We do not rely upon the usual ‘death by PowerPoint’, instead we use progressive incident scenario based training methods. Our courses teach techniques proven to work in real life incidents and not just in a classroom. Our training builds confidence and develops first aid skills into complete incident management.
