This one day (6 hour) Paediatric First Aid course is designed to give you basic practical lifesaving first aid skills. This course is suitable for any individual who is involved with children. This course is NOT suitable for current Ofsted or EYFS requirements. Instead, the 2-day (12 hour) course is required.
About the course
This course is the entry level Paediatric First Aid course suitable for parents, nannies and au pairs. If you are registering with Ofsted or need an EFYS compliant course you will need our full two day course.
It is suitable for those who require basic lifesaving skills and techniques to manage an emergency first aid situation involving children and babies. This course is also the first day (6 hours) of the 2 day (12 hour) Paediatric First Aid qualification.
All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements. The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as the Emergency Paediatric Certificate.
Paediatric Emergency First Aid Training programme
Our Instructors come from a range of professional and voluntary backgrounds such as:
We aim to match instructors to your specific training requirements. They are aware of the specific needs of various outdoor environments, fully understanding the problems and judgements that have to be made when dealing with incidents in stressful, dangerous and remote situations.
Our training is very practical and hands on. We do not rely upon the usual ‘death by PowerPoint’, instead we use progressive incident scenario based training methods. Our courses teach techniques proven to work in real life incidents and not just in a classroom. Our training builds confidence and develops first aid skills into complete incident management.
There are no formal prerequisites to attend this course. The minimum age to attend is 16 and you must be reasonably fit and strong due to the physical nature of the training.
Basic written and verbal English comprehension is required. To pass you must be able to demonstrate practical competence as well as answer the written test questions to an acceptable standard. To benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
If you have any disabilities please contact us beforehand to discuss how we might be able to support you.
All candidates must attend the full course to qualify. Each candidate is continually assessed throughout. There is NO final practical assessment.
