First Aid at Work Requalification Level 3 (Level 6 Scotland)
12 hours (2 days)

A requalification course to maintain your First Aid at Work qualification. Suitable for high hazard environments and working conditions that require comprehensive first aid cover such as factories, building sites and companies with high numbers of staff.

The National School of First Aid Training offers the new and updated First Aid at Work qualification, awarded as a Level 3 qualification in England and Wales and a Level 6 SCQF qualification in Scotland.

The First Aid at Work Level 3 qualification (FAW) is ideal for most businesses whose risk assessment has identified that they require a fully trained first aider for their workplace. The Certificate is valid for 3 years from issue, after which the student must requalify.

The 12 hour (2 day) First Aid at Work Requalification course covers the same programme as the full 18 hour ( 3 day) First Aid at Work course in sufficient detail to ensure candidates are competent and confident on completion of the course. It must be taken with the previous Certificate still valid or within one month of the previous FAW expiring, otherwise the full 3-day FAW must be completed. Proof of certification must be brought to the course.

As of 1st October 2017 this Qualification has been classified as Level 3 in England & Wales and SQCF Level 6 in Scotland.

This course can be combined with the 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work course if you have learners requiring a mixture of qualifications. Those learners just attend day 1. Overall numbers cannot exceed 12.

Instructors

Our trainers come from a range of professional backgrounds such as the emergency services, the military and outdoor professionals. We aim to match instructors to your specific training requirements. They are aware of the specific needs of various outdoor environments, fully understanding the problems and judgements that have to be made when dealing with incidents in stressful, dangerous and remote situations. Learn more about our trainers and what makes them unique.

Training

Our training is very practical and hands on with a typically 70% practical to just 30% theory. Our courses do not rely upon the usual ‘death by PowerPoint’, instead we use progressive incident scenario based training methods. Our courses teach techniques proven to work in real life incidents and not just in a classroom. Our training builds confidence and develops first aid skills into complete incident management. Read more about our training and why we get such positive reviews.

Prerequisites

The student must hold a valid First Aid at Work Certificate that is in date or within one month of expiry. Proof of this Certification must be brought with the student to Registration on the first day. Failure to do so will mean the student is not allowed to be certified on completion.

Minimum Age: 16 Years

Photo (e.g. Driving Licence) is required.

Assessment

All candidates must attend the full course to pass. Each candidate is continually assessed throughout and must demonstrate competence in all the assessed skills.

In addition, there may be a written test at the end which will either be a multiple choice question (MCQ) paper or a written answer paper.

Certification

Our awarding body for First Aid at Work qualifications is either through Pro Trainings or ITC.

ITC First is authorised and regulated by Ofqual and the SQA. Qualification titles are: ITC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) in England and Wales and ITC Certificate in First Aid at Work (SCQF Level 6) in Scotland.

Pro Trainings Accredits our Qualifications as a VTQ (Vocational Trade Qualification) and can also provide RQF Certificates through TQUK
