Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Events

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is a requirement for many jobs such as in healthcare, driving, teaching and many other professions. CPD is required as evidence of a commitment to developing and maintaining basic standards as well as keeping fully up-to-date with best practices and skills. Many of our first aid courses can count towards CPD.

Qualifications

The National School of First Aid Training offer many courses that can count towards CPD such as:

• Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF Level 2 and SCQF Level 5)
• First Aid at Work (RQF Level 3 and SCQF Level 6)
• First Aid at Work Requalification (RQF Level 3 and SCQF Level 6)
• Outdoor First Aid (SCQF Level 5)
• Activity First Aid (RQF Level 2)
• Paediatric First Aid (RQF Level 2)

It is advised to check with your professional council or governing body before booking a course that it meets their requirements.

Certification

Our main awarding body for all first aid qualifications and training is ITC First Aid who are authorised and regulated by Ofqual and the SQA.

Training

Our training is very practical and hands on with a typically 70% practical to just 30% theory. Our courses do not rely upon the usual ‘death by PowerPoint’, instead we use progressive incident scenario based training methods. Our courses teach techniques proven to work in real life incidents and not just in a classroom. Our training builds confidence and develops first aid skills into complete incident management.
