We can organise fun and interactive first aid training courses for any group regardless of age and ability. We can design and deliver courses for any type of community group, charity and parents, in a way that will engage and motivate giving you real skills to save lives and control stressful situations.
Family and Community Groups first aid
We believe strongly that everybody should have access to first aid training. We do not have specific courses for community groups and parents as each person and group is different and their requirements unique. We believe that the ‘one course fits all’ attitude is wrong because of the amount of variables involved such as required course duration, break times, specific content, age of participants and limitations such as disabilities and previous experiences.
We try to make each course as unique as the group
Family and Community Groups First Aid programmes and syllabus
We can design a course from scratch or deliver one of our current courses, including our formal and accredited qualifications such as the ITC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF) in England and Wales and the ITC Certificate in First Aid at Work (SCQF Level 6) in Scotland. If required we can even arrange for training over a number of small evening sessions if required.
Our trainers come from a range of professional backgrounds such as the emergency services, the military and outdoor professionals. We aim to match instructors to your specific training requirements. They are aware of the specific needs of various outdoor environments, fully understanding the problems and judgements that have to be made when dealing with incidents in stressful, dangerous and remote situations. Learn more about our trainers and what makes them unique.
Our training is very practical and hands on with a typically 70% practical to just 30% theory. Our courses do not rely upon the usual ‘death by PowerPoint’, instead we use progressive incident scenario based training methods. Our courses teach techniques proven to work in real life incidents and not just in a classroom. Our training builds confidence and develops first aid skills into complete incident management. Read more about our training and why we get such positive reviews.
All candidates must attend the full course to qualify.
All of our standard first aid qualifications are valid for 3 years. They can be revalidated by completing another first aid course within 3 years. It is’highly recommended’ that first aiders attend an Annual Basic Skills Refresher course.
All Families and Community Groups First Aid certificates will be awarded through our awarding body ITC First Aid who are authorised and regulated by Ofqual and the SQA. Qualification title can be adapted to your specifications such as;
